Life at the Deep End of the Pool...

This last week has been almost non-stop pool playing. I played a week ago Saturday in a qualifying tournament, then played in the ending tournaments for the two leagues I have been playing in this winter on Monday THRU Thursday, and then played in the big 'Top Shooters' tournament this Saturday. I played well every time, except for the one time I didn't care about it and it showed.

On Thursday, we had to play the owner's team of the largest pool hall in the area. He is very good as are the other three members of his team. We ended up beating them 9 to 3 before they gave up. I ran out all three of the games I played - to the amazement of all concerned.

The big tournament this Saturday lasted from noon until 8pm for me. I ended up coming in 9th out of 32 good players. I basically missed the same type of shot 3 different times, that resulted in me loosing both matches and putting me out of the money. I will be practicing that shot hundreds of times this next week and will never miss it again, but that is how we learn - over and over again...

Pam has been great during all this activity and will hopefully keep that attitude this week. I think I have to play three nights this week - Tuesday thru Thursday. We are starting up a new 9-ball league and due to the 'end of season' tournaments we have been playing in last week, we missed the first new game and have to make it up this week. Anyway, it will all be over soon, and I will be back to my usual 1-2 nights a week.

I am really looking forward to this new 9-ball league. In the last league, Storm and I didn't have a good third team member and we ended up coming in 2nd with us doing most of the winning. In this new league, our third player is probably the best player in the area and we should come in way ahead of any other teams and should learn a lot in the process.

All is well on the computer front - finally. All the computers seem to be very happy and I am very happy they are all happy. I got them all new Norton Internet Security 2006 packages to keep them safe. If anybody is interested, NewEgg.com has them for $29.95 - a real good deal...

I'm a little concerned about the new Dell machine though. Its a very fast gaming machine that might be bored doing the tasks I have it doing right now. I try to keep it busy recording shows and being the server for all the other computers, but I just don't know if that will be enough. It has six fans to play with, but you can hardly hear it at all, so I hope its doing ok.

Pam has her annual review today and is very excited about it. After all her successes and awards of late, we hope it will come with good raises and bonuses.

Well, I must do my yoga and then start practicing my soon to be 'favorite' pool shot. That's how we do it here in DaHo...

I have used Norton products for years, off and on. And, I must say that this 2006 version was the best to install and use - no problems at all with all 4 computers. With all the nasty stuff out there these days, I don't know anything that is better, but what do I know...
