It Lives and Still Recovering...

So, I finally got a stripped down HP XE2 laptop for parts through an ebay reseller and was able to replace the hinges and keyboard on the old HP XE2. So, now it lives again. I didn't know that the XE2 also came with little 12" screens - ours has a 14" screen. That is what I ended up getting and it didn't work with our laptop. So, I had to rebuild the old screen case and hinges. I had to use some creative skills and super glue to get it done, but it is all fixed.

Then, the garden just seems to go from bad to worse. While we were gone, Storm came over and put in all the fencing and rabbit protection and it was looking good. Then, Pam transplanted all her seedlings, she has been growing in the windows, into the garden. We watered heavily and the ground, where the trenches had been doug to repair the sprinkler and gas lines, sank about a foot. So, some major work has to be done there to save all the plants and get the ground fixed. Then, I noticed that the sprinklers in the front yard, feed by the lines that got cut, weren't working right. They are not getting enough water pressure. So, we had to call the sprinkler guy who is coming next week. I don't know if some dirt got into the sprinkler valves and jets, or the new lines are not right, or what at this point. I am not going to 'fix' the sinking ground if we just will have to dig it up again. Its amazing how 'bad' such a pretty little garden can go...

But, on a good note, I played in the weekly 8-ball handicap tournament on Wednesday night. Pam was going to a cooking class and I wasn't feeling too good, but I went anyway. I ended up getting second place and should have won the whole thing, but I just ran out of gas about midnight during the final games. So, now, my handicap goes up again making it even harder to win. I played very well and did SEVEN table runs during the night, taking out several very good players in the process.

We are still both recovering from this cold/flu thing, but are getting better with time. Tomorrow, I am taking Pam, and we are taking her mom, up to Jackpot Nevada for some Mother's Day entertainment and festivities. It's always exciting here in DaHo...
