Crazy, Crazy, Crazy...
Did I mention that things are really crazy around here? Sorry for not writing lately, but between the whole holiday thing, the great garage flood and trying to get ready for my 60th birthday party in the middle of all this mess, things are CRAZY around here.
Its been very cold here also. Highs in the low 20ies and lows in the 5 to 15 degree range for days...
This whole garage flood issue is a total mess. I am calling the restoration company multiple times a day. Its one of few phone numbers I know by heart now.
Pam's recovery from her neck surgery is just getting better and better. She has been back to work now for a couple of weeks and just doing great. She doesn't have to wear the neck brace much at all any more which she is enjoying. You can only have soo much fun in a neck brace, I guess... I have been trying to keep her from doing too much or at least with heavy things, but there is just soo much to do its hard to control her.
The big artificial Christmas Tree we have had for a couple of years got ruined by the flood, so we went out and bought a real one for a change. We have been Searching through the garage for whatever Christmas stuff we have left to decorate the house as much as possible with the party happening and all.
So, I will be 60 this year. I am officially an Old Geezer now. I have felt like one for a while, but didn't have the 'credentials' until now. Speaking of, most of this week I haven't been able to talk much, if at all. I changed my TEP valve last week and it has been screwed up mostly ever since. Which, has made all of this FUN happening hourly even more of a challenge and frustration to all concerned. It finally seems to be getting better. I guess it must have gotten agitated and swollen in there and just plugged up or something.
Today, I have to go to Jackpot Nevada to get party supplies. Liquor is almost twice as expensive here an worth the hour drive for party stock. Another fun thing to do in my spare time...
I bought myself a new fishing reel for the Blessed Birthday Event. Its my first casting type reel I have ever owned - like they use for the big ocean fish. All my other ones are of the spinning type and just too small for these large Sturgeon I am going after. The reason I have never owned one before was that every time I had used one in the past, it ended up in a disaster of snarls of line. But, I figure I have thicker thumb skin and am older and wiser now - well at least a lot older... Anyway, I 'went' fishing one time this month and after I got there and started getting ready, decided that was just too cold to be doing it and came home. It was about 22 deg and I was afraid I would get stuck to a pipe, or something, like the kid in the Christmas movie...
The only high point lately as been my pool league playing. It has been going well. I haven't been able to play or practice here for a couple of weeks as the covered table is the present wrapping and decoration organization area...
Well, I must be off as I have many things to do with all of this 'stuff' happening here in DaHo...
