Wrapping up the Summer...

The weather is getting cooler by the day, it seems. And, this weekend, there is suppose to be a storm with lots of rain and wind. Big fun...

Pam put an ad somewhere and ended up getting two local high school guys to come and do yardwork. So, this week, they have pretty much cleaned up all the estate grounds and have done a great job. Next week, they are going to put down weed cloth and rocks on the landscaping burms. It should turn out well.

I again played in the Tuesday night 9-ball tournament and came in 2nd. I should have won it, but my back started acting up and I ended up turning a 4-0 lead in a final match into a 4-5 loss...

Also, I have signed up for two new fall/winter pool leagues. I played the first match on Thursday night and did well. Its a 8-ball league that we travel to all sorts of local bars in the area, which is always big fun.

I have been developing some special fishing line needles, I make from tubing used for medical hypodermic needles, for this very specialized hollow spectra braid line I use for sturgeon fishing. This line is used a lot in East coast ocean fishing. They are a real challenge to make and I have sent out samples to a couple of online dealers. If it goes well, I will probably be making and selling them to a number of dealers and fisherman over the winter, while its too cold to fish here.

Pam is doing better with the braces. She has been working in the 'online chat' support area at Dell this week, so she can reduce her speaking, and associated pain, as much as possible. It seems to be getting better as time goes on.

This Sunday, my OLDEST son, Aaron, turns 40 years old. I am blown away by this event. It seems like only yesterday when I was 40 years old, well, maybe the day before yesterday. Acutally, I cannot remember it at all, but having a son that is THAT OLD is concerning. So, happy birthday Aaron!! He doesn't look a day over 39...

All week, I have been working on getting all the stuff done that has been put on hold during all the visitors and summer fun. I have fixed two toilets, done lots of computer and paper work, wrote my monthly article, and all sorts of fun stuff. In the process, I was working on upgrading the little Micro SD cards we use in our cell phones and my GPS unit. I was removing one of these little cards from its full size 'mother ship', and it went 'sprong' and I heard a click when it hit something in my office desk area. I have spent over two hours trying to find it without success. I cannot figure out where that little sucker went, but I guess I will have to go through every piece of paper to find it. Its amazing how much of a hassle this is turning out to be...

I installed the new wireless routers and all went well. We now have great wireless coverage thoughout the house. There is this one 'issue' where it now takes about twice as long to load pages from the internet, but I am sure I will figure it out soon. The new router in the living room, with the seven internal antennas, has this circle of blue led lights on top that report the various antenna activity, and are quite a light show to watch when things really get boreing here in DaHo...
