Returning to our Regular Channels...

Yesterday morning, about 3am, we took Jade and Tom to the Boise airport for their return trip to the UK. The news said that the weather was going to be nasty and it was...

It was snowing and blowing so much that there were times I couldn't see the lines on the road to know if we were on it or not. And, every time a truck would pass, it was a whiteout condition for about 30 seconds. So, I had to hit the brakes and slow way down until it cleared enough to see again.

But, will all that going on, we did make it to the airport on time and they got all checked in and through security. We returned after getting them all checked in and it was worse coming home...

It was great to have them stay with us. We learned a lot about the UK and technical stuff in general. Tom is one of the sharpest Techies I have been around and I have been around a lot of them. Those of you who have known me for some time, know that statement is very true. I had to 'manage' many of them for years when working at Gentry in San Francisco.

He helped resolve many 'issues' I was having around here for some time and resolved each of them with skill and amazing ease. They also showed me a lot of new ideas and toys that I am still amazed at. The most impressive to me was Tom's internet phone. It looked like a standard business telephone with multiple lines. But, if you plug it into the internet, anywhere in the world, and someone calles his number in the UK, it answers and is like next door, and for free - Pretty amazing stuff...

Shortly after getting back home, the UPS guy showed up and brought my new parts for the new DaHo Home Server computer system...
