It's Just Before Winter here in DaHo...

The season has changed here in DaHo. There have been quite a few storms passing through and the weatherman is talking about snow starting in the local mountains, so we are in a new weather season. We experience all four seasons here - Just Before Winter, Winter, Just After Winter and Road Repair...

The business is still going great. We just finished updating the web site will all sorts of new stuff, so if you are really board, check it out at http://www.dahoproducts.com/. We are now going after a lot of new dealers since our new products are out and getting rave reviews. Here is a picture of them:

They are sort of hard to see here, but they have a latch mechanism on them that can be opened. To folks that work with hollow spectra fishing lines, they are a big deal.

We are having a very difficult time finding some company to machine make our needles. They don't seem to be able to duplicate our hand done processes very well. We have even been talking to folks in China and India, but due to the communications gap and neither side trusting the other about delivery and payment, I don't know how far all that will go. I guess the usual way to do business over there is to either have a representative over there to inspect the goods before they are paid for and shipped, or you are big enough to hire and train a local 'inspection company' to provide that function for you. And, since we are not Walmart, I don't think this is going to work too well, but we are still looking...

My pool playing was sort of sucking this week. I ended up only winning two of my four games and only got 31 points out of 40. I started out in 32nd place, then went to 5th, and am probably back to 20th or so after that performance. O well, I will do better next week.

This weekend, we have Maudie here with us. She is Storm and Jenny's seven year old daughter. Pam and her made camel apples from scratch last afternoon and then last night we all went to see a movie. I was going to see one I wanted to see, but got talked into staying with them and we say Beverly Hills Chihuahua. It was real special...

We watched the Vice Presidential debate and that was quite good. Sarah did very well. It will be interesting how she does if they do win. I cannot believe how much ribbing she gets by the media. If they win, Tina Fay will have a new job as she is a dead ringer for her.

The new financial bailout shows exactly how congress works. As soon as it had enough extra crap in it to please enough people, then it passed. I wonder who is going to pay for all this crap when it comes due?

Well, I think that is about all that has happened worth note here in DaHo...
