Still Getting Better - Again - Part 3...

For the third time, I am still getting better. I hope it continues and I am finally over this mess. Today, I go see a blood doctor to have them check some test result that came out bad. Depending upon how it goes, I either can stop taking the blood thinner meds after this is over, or I will have to keep taking them from now on. It isn't that big of a deal either way, except that I have to be more careful when taking it as I could bleed out if I had bad cuts.

I have been trying to extract the data off of Aaron and Tara computer hard drive. But, I cannot get any computer to identify the drive as being present and therefor none of my hard drive magic will work. It is very frustrating to spend so much effort on something and not produce any results. I can usually get the data off of the drives, but these newer models had different controller logic boards on them and I guess if it gets trashed, it is done. There are services that can rebuild the logic boards, but it cost a lot of money. Let this be a lesson to all of us to be sure our valuable data is backed up and safe...

Tommy is doing very well. He is the smartest dog I have seen. He learns a trick, like sit or down, in a couple of hours. We took him to a training class and the teacher was very impressed with him, and still being so young. He is also doing much better in his potty training. Either that or he is getting much smarter in where he is hiding it...

Pam is going to take him to the weekly classes on Wednesdays and I am going to play in the weekly pool tournaments that have just started up again for the summer. It will be great to play pool again. We have had stuff piled on top of our pool table for a few months as I just haven't been up to it for a long time.

This weekend, we are going back up to Sun Valley to see Kenny Loggins perform. I guess Roberta couldn't get us another condo this time so we are going to be staying with her and her dogs and bird.

Her bird does the weirdest thing I think I have ever seen. If you put a piece of regular paper down on the table, the bird will take his beak and cut pieces of paper out about 1/4" wide and about 3" or 4" long. They are very straight cuts and after he as cut one out, he picks it up in his beak and after turning it around the right way with his tongue, turns his neck around and inserts the piece of paper in his closed wings as a new feather. Given some time, he will have 5 to 10 new paper feathers installed. It is really amazing how precise his cuts and shapes are and from what Roberta says, he will do it any time there is a piece of paper available to use.

We finally found some great fans for the new backyard patio cover. We got two of them and had the electrician install them a couple of days ago. They work together and are remote controlled. Very nice. Hopefully, we will finally be able to start using the patio since we purchased it in November of last year when the prices were great.

Pam's son Johnny had his 25th birthday - we wish him a very happy birthday...

Well, I must be off to the blood doctor. Anyway, that is about all that has happened here in DaHo...

A Little Sun Helped My Recovery...

I guess the blood thinner meds are doing their job. I have had a few symptoms that usually start the 4-5 day long sickness events, but they only last a day or so and never get really nasty. I am hoping that I am finally over this 5 months of medical hell...

As I mentioned a couple of posts ago, Pam got a new puppy that she has been wanting for years. And, I have had a number of requests for some pictures of him, so here is Tommy Keithley.

When he is all brushed out, his body looks sorta like a minature sheep dog. Except for his incomplete potty training, he is a great little dog. He has a great personality and loves to play with Felix the cat. Which also makes Cali, our older cat, quite happy as she use to be Felix's forced playmate and now she can rest and watch the show.

SO, back to the Sun part of the post. Last weekend, Pam's sister Roberta, was able to get us a great Sun Valley condo to stay in for the weekend. She works for a property management company that rents out condos for the property owners during the times they aren't staying there. It was completely furnished, including a complete kitchen and pantry. It had a wonderful view of the ski slopes and lifts. During the winter, it must be quite a view to see all the skiers and activity going on. Below you can see the view from the living room.

It was all furnished with great leather and wood furniture. It had 3 bedrooms and 4 baths on 3 floors, with a great Jacuzzi hot tub outside on the bottom floor.

Here is a picture of the living room from the upper loft area.

Each of the bedrooms had furniture made out of rough tree parts. Each bedroom had different bed arrangements. Here is the bottom bedroom with 2 double beds.

The middle floor bedroom was a large King bedroom and bath. In addition to all the beds, each of the 3 couches made into a bed, giving a total bed sleeping space for 12 to 14 people, plus there was a lot of space for floor sleepers. During the 'season' this condo rents for $ 1,400 a night...

Then, upstairs there was a loft and desk area and the master suite. The master suite had a 4 post king bed, as you can see below. Then, going up into a wonderful master bath area with a walk in closet. There was a large Jacuzzi bathtub and glass enclosed over sized shower and all the amenities you would expect in a $ 1.5 million condo.

It was a great weekend, and needed getaway, up in Sun Valley. Roberta showed us around the area and we visited a lot of great stores and restaurants. Tommy also loved the get away. Pam likes to take him everywhere she can and he loves to be with her as much as he can.

Hopefully, my illness is a thing of the past and I will continue to get better. I have started doing my yoga again and have a long way to go to get back in the shape I use to be. That will give me something to do, in my spare time, here in DaHo...

All is Going Along - Well?...

In the past couple of weeks, two or three times I have had some of the symptoms of the usual bout of whatever I have been having, have occurred. And in all cases, it didn't take its usual course of making me sicker and sicker, and it all went away. Either the blood thinner meds have started working or something else is changing. I am hoping its the results of the blood thinner meds dissolving the clot that is blocking my artery, which means that the end of this horrible mess is close at hand.

Everything else is going along. I have been working on getting the business affairs together, testing a lot of our in house inventory and getting it all ready to ship. We have also ordered a lot more needles for the future as we are using the current inventory quite quickly.

The only issue that is of concern is that our new puppy is not understanding the concept of being potty trained and we seem to be constantly cleaning up after him. Pam has been reading a number of books and doing research on how to deal with this problem. Sometimes is seems he has got it, only to be disappointed at the first possible opportunity. He has also started chewing on the master bed, which has also got to be stopped...

This weekend, Pam is participating in some charity walk by having a Dell refreshment booth for all of the dell 'walkers'. I think she is only doing it so she can show off Tommy...

Well, the good news is that that is all the current bad news here in DaHo...
