Water Sports and Assult Rifles for cars...

Last weekend, we took Pam's brother's 4 girls up to Lava Hot Springs in Eastern Idaho. It is quite a place for water sports of all kinds. They have this great 20' river that runs through the 8 block or so long town. There are probably 10 places to rent tubes of all types to ride the rapids through town. Then, as you are coming into town, there is this giant indoor/outdoor swimming pool and water slide complex The indoor pool is an Olympic size with all the standard Olympic diving apparatus. Then, they have this gigantic outdoor pool with 7 water slides that go from totters to roller coaster size. They also have 7 different diving platforms and boards from 1 foot to 30 feet. They don't seem to have much control over the diving opportunities. I guess that kids under 12 have to have their parents approval to go off of the 20 and 30 foot platforms, but that is about it. They do have 3 full time lifeguards on duty and a 20 foot giant water snake that there are always about 20 people on trying to knock all the other folks off. It just goes on and on.

We met Storm, Jenny and their clan there in Lava. They were staying there for the weekend. It would be a nice place to stay for kids, but the whole place is water oriented, which I would have loved before I got this hole in my neck. Now, I cannot get into water much, or better put, I cannot allow water to get into my neck hole or I am done. The few times that I got a small amount of water into my stoma in the shower, it is amazing how quickly it puts you on your knees and coughing. Getting a full shot of it from being in it would be a VERY short swim...

So, Pam and I and Tommy stayed on the outside of the pool area and watched from a grassed hill. When we were gathering everybody up to leave, I noticed that all of the people were slowly and quietly getting out of the pool all over. They have this very loud PA system that they had been using all day, but it didn't give any instructions about getting out of the pool. I thought that there must be a big brown floater in the pool that got everyone out at first. But, it was a little girl about 8-10 years old that had jumped off of the 30 foot platform and got very shaken up or broke something. I wasn't close to her, but I heard that she was shaking a lot and was not conscious for a while.

So, as we were leaving, there was an ambulance there and the pool was back in business and all was great again.

Then, the other day, I was watching this local car dealer commercial on TV. The government 'cash for clunkers' tax dollars giveaway was back in business and this car dealer on TV was offering a new AK-47 assault rifle in addition to the $ 4,500 government bailout for buying a new car. It hard hard to pass up a new AK-47, but we just don't need a car right now...

This weekend, we have Roman, Pam's nephew. Friday night we took him to the Jerome county fair and went to the Rodeo, which was great fun, but it was cold for the first time in months. Then, yesterday we took him to see the new GI JOE movie. It is pretty good. They could have used a little more action and a few more guns and weapons, but besides that it was pretty good.

I got a 200 needle order on Friday and I have been working on it in my spare time. The business still goes well and all is good. The business has pretty much taken over the upstairs "Guest Suite". We are working on designing and getting built some new products besides needles. They are involving a lot of new stuff for me and I am learning a lot about new things.

Well, that is about it here in DaHo...
