And Now for Something Altogether Different...

Tom and Jade got here last Thursday and we have been having all kinds of visiting fun and good eating ever since. Tom has been helping us, mostly me, in fixing all the little technical 'issues' that have been plaguing our computers here at DaHouse. He is one of the best computer techs I have ever seen. He seems to know how to fix just about everything that I can throw at him. He also resolved a problem I had of trying to figure out how to bring TV signals to Pam's kitchen computer. I was pondering running wires and nasty stuff like that. He loaded a program on the Dell Office server and now Pam can control the Media Center actions on the server and watch programs over the wireless link in the kitchen. It is awesome...

He was also able to repair a hard disk that Ryan had all sorts of data on that his tech folks couldn't get repaired. He downloaded a program, Spinright, that I use to use many years ago, and it fixed it all up and we were able to get all of Ryan and Chris's data and pics off of the damaged disk. Great stuff and thank you Tom!

As soon as they got here, we went down and picked out a great real Christmas Tree and decorated it all up wonderfully. it is quite a sight. I will post some pics of it when I get some time. Pam has been cooking all sorts of great gourmet meals most every night so we have been eating great.

We have been getting ready for the big wedding, er Re-Wedding, of Jade and Tom for the US family and friends in Las Vegas this Saturday. We have been running around getting all sorts of stuff and clothes and such to be ready and prepared for it and now we have to pack it all into and onto the Jeep for the big trip to Las Vegas tomorrow. The weather is suppose to be pretty nasty, so we are going to take the longer Freeway route through Salt Lake City to get there. We will be leaving very early Friday morning and will be driving until we get there, depending on how much fun it is - weather wise. Then, the wedding and celebration is Saturday and we will return back to DaHo on my Birthday on Sunday.

We are planning on stopping at Fry's Electronics while in Las Vegas. We haven't been to a 'real' computer store for some time and it will be fun. Tom is planning on buying a I-MAC computer, his first Apple, to bring back to the UK with him. He hates to do it, but must have access to one to support his customers and their crazy buying habits...

Well, lots of stuff to do and get done so I must be off. We should be back to DaHo very late on Sunday or early Monday, depending on the weather...
