Fishing Fair...
Well, we have recovered from the BIG party. Pam has been bring food into Dell daily to an eager group. The house is all cleaned up and party stuff all put away.
So, yesterday, I went fishing after about 3 weeks. I went down to this local set of lakes that feature really big, and usually uncatchable, Golden Trout. You can always see them swimming around, but they usually never 'take the bait' as it were...
Using my ultralight spinning outfit and a spinning lure, I finally hooked one up and after a great fight on the lightweight line, landed it. It was about 4 lbs and really pretty. It took a while to figure out how to net it from this little pier I was fishing on. I was finally able to get it down to the end and get my pole and net at foot level and get it in the net. This is the first nice fish I have caught since grandson Oliver and my fishing marathon last month. I ended up giving to an older couple fishing down the lake. They were impressed with it. The man said that they had been trying to catch one for weeks.
Then, last night, we went to the Twin Falls County Fair to see the John Michael Montgomery concert. It was quite a spectacle. Lots of lights and good sounds. They played both kinds of music - Country and Western... First, we had dinner there, feasting on Navajo Tacos - a taco salad sorta thing on an Indian fry bread base. Pretty tasty but lots of grease.
One of the big local favorites there at the fair are the famous Tater Pigs. They are a potato with a hole in the middle that is filled with a sausage. It's hard to find much more exciting than a Tater Pig here in DaHo...

Hey -- why don't you invent 'Tator Trout'?
Great Idea, who ever you are. The Tators are large around here, but I'm not sure how to do it with the size of the local trout. But, that would be the ultimate Ho treat...
